Filling the fridges of our communities
Dairy and meat products are often the least donated and most difficult to preserve due to lack of cold-storage options. So, in August 2020, Zoetis donated $50,000 to the Dairy Alliance and Midwest Dairy to help purchase 17 cold-storage units for food banks across the country. And the goal is to keep those fridges filled — our colleagues, customers and industry allies have stepped up to donate and volunteer time to ensure their communities are getting the resources they need.
A love letter to the dairy industry
June Dairy Month is a time to recognize the dedicated dairy producers across the country. So, to show our appreciation for this industry, the Zoetis Dear Dairy program invited farmers to write love letters and vote for their favorites. These letters showcased the resolve dairy producers have for their cows and their farms even in the face of adversity. For every letter and vote, Zoetis donated $5 to The Great American Milk Drive, which resulted in a $5,000 donation to the organization.
Calving season, spreading hope one calf at a time
Calving season has always been more than hard work. It's been an inspiration to our communities. And, in 2020, it became a symbol of hope that brought us together. We called upon cow and calf producers to submit photos and videos from their calving season to help those who needed a little hope. For every submission, Zoetis donated $1 to Feeding America's COVID-19 Relief Fund. These photos gave us a glimpse of farmers' sheer dedication and helped us ultimately donate over $20,000 to those in need.
Supporting the next generation
To ensure the health of our industry, we need to support those who protect the health of our animals. Through the Zoetis Commitment to Veterinarians™ platform, we provide leadership and diversity for the future generations of veterinarians. Throughout the years, the scholarship program has awarded $7.3 million to help offset educational expenses for more than 3,600 students.
